September is the Long March: 3,804 commits in twenty-four days, and more than half of them belong to one subject — the mixed-reality client crossing its own desert.
1,632 commits push spatial-cognition-xr through the hard country: the
engine-free core (C# domain logic with noEngineReferences, compiled by
Unity and by a standalone solution, so dotnet test runs with no Unity
installed — ADR-SCP-002), the verification ladder (rung 1: seconds, headless;
rung 2: batchmode; each rung a promise about what counts as proof,
ADR-SCP-007), and the frame budget treated as a contract rather than a hope.
Vendor lock-in is accepted knowingly and contained: Meta types may live
only in adapter assemblies. Ports, not platforms — even when the platform is
literally a headset.
The march leaves artifacts at every camp: readonly structs where mutability
had crept in (23d62a5), sandbox state renamed to what it actually is
(459ff2d), and two R2 blocker records struck from the ledger with one
beautiful line — the blocker is gone (514196b, 6f3e1d5). Evidence cuts
both ways: it keeps your claims honest and it retires your fears.
At the close of the march, a new banner: agent-harness-bridge bootstraps v1 with a filesystem conformance runner — HMAC-signed JSON envelopes over a mailbox, so that Claude Code, Codex, and the scripts in between can pass sealed orders to one another. Zero infrastructure. Integrity, not encryption. The fleet talks.
3,804 commits. The ridge is in sight.
